My call to intercede came to me during a difficult time in my life. The Holy Spirit highlighted scriptures on fasting and praying. My first 24 hour fast, I prayed by myself in the sanctuary of my church for 8 hours. I went to sleep that night crying for the starving children in the world. I did not realize at the time

My call to intercede came to me during a difficult time in my life. The Holy Spirit highlighted scriptures on fasting and praying. My first 24 hour fast, I prayed by myself in the sanctuary of my church for 8 hours. I went to sleep that night crying for the starving children in the world. I did not realize at the time the Holy Spirit was calling me to intercession. In prayer I would go into travail not understanding what was happening. This was in 1992. In 1997 a powerful man of God prayed intercession over me. I went out in Spirit and travailed for the lost. This took place in 1997. This was the first time I had heard the word "intercession". As I searched the scriptures for direction Ezekiel 22:30 stood out to me.
"I sought for a man among them who would...stand in the GAP before me on behalf of the land." I could see then that
God had chosen me to be an intercessor. Why? Because I had prayed; "God, use me, I will do anything you ask." My first prayer group was called G.A.P., (God Answers Prayer).
